Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation Limited which is a Non-banking Financial Company registered under the Reserve Bank of India, has
bilised Fixed Deposits from Public amounting to nearly
Rs.117.49 Crores till 31.03.2005. The Government of Kerala holds 100% of the paid up share capital of the Company. The main objective of KTDFC is to finance for purchase of Transport Vehicles and to accept Fixed Deposits from the public. The deposits mobilised by the Company upto
Rs.160 Crores are guaranteed by the State Government.
The Government of Kerala has given Unconditional and irrevocable guarantees for the issue of Non-SLR Bonds amounting to
Rs.161.6 Crores on private placement. These bond issues were fully subscribed.
During the current financial year, the Company has granted Rs.
695.49 lakhs as loans to individuals for purchase of vehicles. An amount of
Rs. 10339 lakhs has been granted as loans under SRTO scheme. An amount of
Rs. 12204.05 lakhs has been granted to KSRTC during 2004-05.
An amount of
Rs. 98.38 lakhs and Rs.256.56 lakhs has been granted as vehicle loans to MLAs and Officers respectively under these schemes.
The
Company has also launched new loan schemes for grant of Housing
Loans and Personal loans.An amount of Rs.169.78 lakhs and Rs.28.08
lakhs has been granted as Housing Loans and Personal loans
repectively during the year 2004-05
The Company earned a profit of Rs.396.12 lakhs during the financial year
2004-05 and proposes to pay a dividend of
Rs.50.24 Lakhs to Government.
The Company is presently implementing the proposal of construction of Trans Towers at Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram. The Ten-storied “Trans-Towers” at Vazhuthacaud is an Office-cum-Shopping complex which will accommodate the Transport Commissioner Office, Regional Transport Office and the Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation, whereby the public will have access to their needs from Registration to Finance of vehicles under a single roof. The total cost of the project is around
Rs. 10 Crores, which includes Rs.7.5crores alone on account of cost of construction. The construction of the
building which has already commenced in April 2004, is scheduled
to completed by March 2006..
